Flyt’s mobile payment solution made settling the bill as easy as checking your phone. But customers were stuck in an entrenched routine: wait for the waiter, ask for the bill, pay. Changing that behaviour—at scale—was the key to unlocking Flyt’s commercial upside. We partnered with Flyt to design a performance-focused rollout that would shift customer habits from day one.

Flyt was preparing to roll out its mobile payment tech across 1,700 restaurant locations. But changing how people pay, in a context shaped by decades of ingrained habits, posed a serious challenge.

We ran in-store ethnography and interviews across 80 locations to understand the customer journey, identifying key friction points and behavioural barriers to adoption.

Design interventions that shift behaviour

We used these insights to build a portfolio of nudges—ranging from menu prompts to staff scripts—targeted at the moments most likely to drive payment via mobile. We designed 20+ interventions across in-store signage, value framing, and team engagement.

Equip teams to activate best practice

We created custom manager briefings, built benchmarking tools, and shared real-world examples of what good looked like—making it easy for restaurant teams to adopt best practice without losing time or momentum.
